    The GIPD's Drone Program is designed to provide airborne support to police and emergency operations in a safe, responsible, and transparent manner, for the purpose of increasing the safety and security of citizens.

    Criminal Investigations

    Criminal Investigators gather facts, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and arrest suspects.

    SWAT

    The SWAT Team is called upon to respond for service of high-risk search and arrest warrants; incidents involving barricaded suspects, hostage rescues, or active shooters; crowd control; and other situations requiring resources beyond the capacity of the patrol division.

    The purpose of this position is to collect and process evidence related to crimes. The position is responsible for collecting, processing, safeguarding, and presenting evidence.

    Gang Investigators

    The Gang Unit investigates gang-related crimes committed by members of criminal street gangs. They have the added responsibility of prevention, intervention, and suppression of criminal gang activity.
